Edin Terzic, the former Borussia Dortmund coach, has left the club.
Terzic resigned on Wednesday night, according to a statement received from the Sky Sports website, despite the club reaching the Champions League final this season.
Terzic met with Borussia’s executive management on Thursday morning and exited the meeting in less than an hour via the club’s back entrance.
According to a club statement, Terzic requested that Dortmund cancel his contract, and the club agreed to do so.
Terzic stated in a video clip on X that it is extremely painful for him to tell all Black & Yellow fans that he is leaving Borussia Dortmund today.
“To win the DFB Cup with BVB and guide this incredible team to the Champions League final was an enormous honor.” “I feel that the club’s new era should begin with a new man on the touchline after ten years at BVB – including five on the coaching staff and two and a half as head coach – after the game at Wembley. To that end, I requested a meeting with the senior management team.”

Terzic managed Dortmund twice: first as an interim manager at the conclusion of the 2020–21 campaign, and again as a permanent manager prior to the 2022–23 campaign.
“Edin Terzic has done an outstanding job in his time at BVB, and we all owe him a huge debt of gratitude,” Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke remarked in response to the incident. I will always be friends with Edin.
